Zegerid Omeprazole, Sucralcoat Sucralfate – Medicines for stomach and throat problems

International Drug Mart had added new medicines in the product list for stomach & throat problems. Zegerid (Omeprazole-Sodium Bicarbonate) is been added to the Acid-Reducer & Acid-Reflux category (Prescription Drug). Similarly an Over The Counter drug is also been added to the list – Sucralcoat (Sucralfate).

Zegerid (Omeprazole-Sodium Bicarbonate)

Zegerid (Omeprazole – Sodium Bicarbonate) is used for the treatment of Acid-Associated throat & Stomach Problems like Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), Erosive Esophagitis, Ulcer, and Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome.

 

It contains the mixture of Omeprazole & sodium bicarbonate, in which the first helps in minimizing the production of acid level in stomach – while the later rears the pH in stomach such that it prevents Omeprazole from fragmenting in stomach.

Each sachet contains Omeprazole IP of 20 mg. Patients who are in Low sodium diet are strictly advised not to use it without physician’s advice.

Sucralcoat (Sucralfate) – OTC

Sucralcoat is a Sugar free gastrointestinal Sucralfate oral suspension – Available in International Drug Mart’s Over The Counter Category in Peppermint Flavor. It is used for the treatment of ulcer diseases.
